FINALLY- June 28

Finally, our house is officially sold.
We were extremely pleased with the speed at which our house sold.
It went on the market Monday around noon.
I sat around all day with butterflies just waiting to be asked to leave. I didn't let the kids play with toys, we just sat in a spotless house. So frustrating!
I got a call around 4 that someone wanted to come see it.
Really??!!
I knew it was going to happen but I was still shocked when it did. I tidied, packed up the kids and dog and headed to my mom's house. C met us there after work.
I called Trina around 7:30, just to make sure it was safe to go back home.  She told me she thinks they are writing an offer, TONIGHT!
It was amazing, they did write an offer, we eventually come to an agreement late Monday night.
Wow, SOLD. Without it ever hitting MLS online, no sign up and no lock box on.
Amazing.
They just had two conditions and had 8 days to get them completed.
The best part about selling our house so fast was now no one could put in any offers on our new house. What a relief. I had no idea until this crazy two weeks that real estate could be so sneaky and stressful.
Even though a home owner has accepted your offer (with the condition you sell your house), they are still able to show their house and accept other offers. You then have only 48 hours to remove your conditions, our you loose the house to someone else.
Lucky for us, our home owners also have two small kids and once they "sold" to us, they weren't interested in keeping their house "ready to show" clean and didn't allow anyone else in to view it.

The people buying our house's 8 days were up today. We got the call this afternoon that everything was great and all conditions off our house were listed which then lifted our last condition (to sell our house) and now our new house is sold too.
Such a relief.
We're very excited! We get possession August 18 and have a week to be out of our current home.
I'll post pictures of the transformation once we are in!

My brave sister - June 24

Today we celebrated Cousin W's 4th birthday.
My sister borrowed the church and hosted her first "kids" party. Kids party, meaning no parents. Yikes.
I have a whole new fear of J and E getting older now.
This kids party involved 14 little kids, most 4 but then also J who is 2 and the two little girls (I and E).
The kids had a blast. The party involved a plaster dinosaur craft, games, snacks, cupcakes and painting.
Phew. I'm glad it wasn't me in charge!!
L did such a great job, you'd have no idea she's not a "party person."
Being a teacher, maybe she's used to lots of crazy kids, I would have lost my mind in the first 15 minutes.
J had a great time even though to me he was noticeable the youngest, he didn't seem to notice. He tried his best to play with the big kids and had fun dancing and running around screaming. He LOVED painting and I'll definitely have to set that up as a craft once we've moved.
Good job little Sis.

Happy Birthday W

I was surprised at how clean he stayed while painting.

Happy Birthday Cousin I -June 22

We have a very busy June with lots of birthdays and a Fathers Day thrown in there. Crazy. Almost as busy as our end of September to mid October. A very close second.
We celebrated cousin I's first birthday with a big family dinner of Thai food and of course, cake!
It was a great night out, spending time with family and family of my sister's family.
It has a been such a treat to see I grow up this year. They live so close and with our weekly family dinners, we've gotten to see her grow into such a sweet little girl.
She's a great walker already and listening to her talk, I can't wait for E to start communicating too. I love watching I and E "play" together. It usually involves sharing chew toys but I can see their friendship is there already.

So sweet!

31 Chestermere Road- June 20

Well, it's official. Our house is for sale!
This whole process has gone much faster than we had ever expected. It all seems very surreal.  We loved our house, we LOVED our yard.
 Our house on Trina's website
Trina's team has been fantastic! From Trina herself, to the home stager Laura and the photographer, our house looks amazing.
Here's hoping for a quick sale so we can help make our new house and yard as great as this one!

MIA - June 3 until now. June 19

I've been totally MIA, sorry.
The short version is we're moving. Our house goes up for sale tomorrow and so I have been spending almost every waking moment cleaning, purging and packing our house.
Tiring is not the word, it is inexplicably exhausting.
In one week we have found a new house, had a stager come in and turn our house upside down and now we've had our house professional photographed.
It all seems so surreal, it has happened really fast. Literally 7 days.
I have photos of my recently "staged" house, I'll post them as soon as I find my camera I have "cleaned up."
I'm nervous. I hope our house sells quickly because keeping it in this pristine condition, with two kids is going to be another full time job!
Fingers crossed everyone!

Happy Birthday Cousin E - June 18

J's cousin E turned 4 last week. We had a great time at Jurassic Forrest last week and this week was his party.
Unfortunately the outdoor party was rained out and moved indoors but the kids had such a blast playing with balloons.

 Happy Birthday!
My sister in law makes the most amazing cakes. I hope you can see Scooby Doo in all his glory!
She's amazing!

Intros - June 13

We spend a morning at Kensington Village visiting the kids great great aunt.
She is 96 now (I think) and we hadn't had a chance to see her yet to introduce E.
J, Grandma 21 and I went last summer to visit her while they had miniature horses staying on the premises.
We went again this year, hoping to see the horses but we had missed them by one day ... darn!
J still enjoyed our visit. He got to see a water fountain and splash his fingers in it, great stuff for a 2.5 year old.
Great, great aunt M enjoyed our visit. It took a few repetitions of who we were, but by the end, she remembered who I was and who the children belonged to :)

Enjoying a warm walk in the courtyard.

A snack with Grandma 21

Such a sweet heart!

Happy Birthday Daddy - June 9

J and I baked a cake for Daddy for his birthday. J was very excited to help. His favourite part ... picking out the icing at Superstore.
Daddy and his two mini-me's.

Comments

I apologize, I didn't realize there was a problem posting comments.
I am wondering if some settings got changed when Blogger had their shut down for a few days last month.
I have changed a few settings, please let me know (by email I guess) if you still aren't able to post comments.
Thanks

Leaking - June 3

My poor girl continues to get teeth, fast and furious.
Her four front teeth are in and sharp!
It seems another set are right behind the first 4.
This poor girl started "leaking" today. Her nose is running like crazy, clear luckily, and her poor eyes are watering as much as if she was crying. It just won't stop.

Those poor red eyes are just heart breaking. She's been so good through this whole thing. She's gets a bit clingy for us towards nap time and bed time but otherwise, she's such a cheerful trooper.
My fingers are crossed she stays agreeable with tylenol and her teething necklace. So far, so good.

Ice cream cake! June 1

I have noticed I have been a lot more lenient lets say with E's eating and additions to her growing diet. She has more teeth than Jude had and can use them well. She's learned the chewing motion and seems willing to try anything we'll give her.
I would have never let J have ice cream, now look at this girl.
It's hard saying no when she can see everyone else eating goodies and she wants some!
This time, ice cream cake for Grandma's birthday!

Yum. She almost bit off Papa's fork! She loves ice cream.

Happy Birthday Mom - May 31/June 1

My mom turned 60 this year. She looks amazing. She's lost a bunch, like a 40lbs bunch, of weight with a lot of hard work. She's amazing.
We planned a surprise birthday dinner out for her birthday. We celebrated a day early because hubby was going to the U2 concert on her actual birthday.
We went to Ric's Grill here in the Park. It is nice and close and so my sister and I could leave our kids with our in-laws. Happy Mom's Birthday to us!!
Sisters. Can you tell?

Far park - May 30

Tonight we took an after dinner walk to the "far park." We have two parks within walking distance of our house, the closer one is insanely busy pretty much all day long and the slightly farther "far park" is in a slightly older area of our neighbourhood and it's pretty rare to run into anyone else there.
We had a great time ... until the sun started to go down, the temperature dropped about 5 degrees and we were chased home by mosquitoes!
J running all the way there!

Silly girl.

Daddy daughter time.

J's newest Thumbs Up and Smile. So funny!

Oops. I don't know if you can see it, but this one resulted in a face full of sand.

J pushing E home.

J's idea of a "piggy back ride" is to do a death grip around your neck and then just hang.

I love summer time!
