A few last pics - August 17

Here are a few last pictures from our yard at 31 Chestermere Road. Aside from Elise's gorgeous room, it's really the only thing I'll miss about our old house. We put so much effect into it, it's hard to think about it being someone else's yard.

Our new yard needs some TLC. It'll be a while before we can hangout on the grass and just relax.

  1. I totally sympathize. It's been over 5 years and I still don't have the courage to drive past our old house. The yard was beautiful and we'd worked so hard on it.
I'm afraid that the new owners will have done something horrific to it (like bulldozed everything and converted it into a paved dog run or something)

I wish you lots of fun making your new yard just as lovely as the one you left behind. Did you bring some of the perennials with you?

  2. I have a different orientation backyard (we face south this time) so I couldn't use any of my shade plants anyway. I left everything behind. Otherwise, technically, you should have pulled them all out before you list it and the yard is what we were hoping would sell our house.
I did have a gardening journal with all the tags of the plants I had and how they did every year in the location they were in. It was more up to date before kids but I've kept all my new plant tags. I've FILLED my new garden. I'm hoping for a full/ overlapping look this time.

  3. We just brought small pieces of the plants that were easily divided (like lilies, irises etc.) so the garden wasn't harmed. Many of my plants originally came from Dada and Grandma's yards and I wanted to keep them. Sounds like you're having a lot fun at the new place. It's a good time of year too - so many great sales. I look forward to seeing the pictures next summer.
